Volunteer Program

How would you like to spend a few hours a week in a beautiful corner of Phoenix, surrounded by nature, Native American rock art and an energetic group of individuals? What if you could enjoy all this and serve your community at the same time? If this sounds intriguing to you, then call or stop by and learn how you can get involved!

Volunteers are integral to the Deer Valley Rock Art Center’s mission of rock art education, preservation and research. Volunteers participate in all facets of the center’s operations, from working directly with visitors on tours, special programs, outreach, events and at the front desk, to assisting with “behind the scenes” projects in exhibits, gardens, archives, public relations and administration.

There are numerous benefits to being a volunteer at the Deer Valley Rock Art Center. Volunteers receive training from ASU scholars on rock art, desert ecology and Southwest archaeology. They also enjoy complimentary museum memberships, a 10% gift shop discount, free guest lectures and field trips to rock art and other archaeological sites.
